These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Ukrainian Catering website and to catering, wedding catering, tasting, wedding cake and related services provided by Ukrainian Catering unless different or additional terms are expressly stated in a written quote, invoice or agreement.
By using our website or confirming a booking with Ukrainian Catering, you acknowledge these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
1. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website, menus, pricing, service descriptions and other information accurate and current.
Website information is provided for general information and inquiry purposes. Availability, final pricing and the exact services included in your event are confirmed through your quote, invoice or written booking communication.
Submitting a website form does not by itself guarantee availability or create a confirmed catering booking.
2. Quotes and Availability
A quote or proposal is based on the information available when it is prepared, which may include:
- event date;
- guest count;
- venue or delivery location;
- selected catering package;
- menu selections;
- required equipment or rentals;
- staffing;
- delivery requirements;
- setup and teardown requirements; and
- other requested services.
Availability remains subject to confirmation.
A date is not considered reserved exclusively for a client until the required deposit has been received and the booking has been accepted by Ukrainian Catering.
3. Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure an event date.
Unless otherwise expressly stated in the applicable quote, invoice or written agreement:
- the deposit is non-refundable once the booking is confirmed, except where applicable law requires otherwise;
- the deposit is applied in full toward the remaining balance of the booking; and
- receipt of the required deposit reserves the agreed event date for the client.
The deposit amount and any specific payment requirements will be stated in the applicable quote, invoice or booking communication.
4. Pricing
The final price of a booking depends on the services selected and the final details confirmed for the event.
Applicable GST is additional unless expressly stated otherwise.
Website prices, package prices, minimum guest requirements, optional services, rentals, staffing rates, delivery charges and other pricing may be updated from time to time.
Once a booking is confirmed, the applicable written quote or invoice governs the pricing and services included in that booking, subject to any later changes requested and agreed to by the client.
5. Delivery, Setup and Teardown Fees
Delivery, setup, teardown and equipment pickup fees depend on the service selected and event location.
Events outside Edmonton may be subject to additional travel or delivery charges based on distance, venue location and service requirements.
Any applicable service or travel charges will be identified in the client’s quote, invoice or booking communication.
6. No Required Gratuity
Ukrainian Catering does not require automatic gratuity or tips.
A client may voluntarily provide a gratuity if they wish, but gratuity is not required unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing.
7. Guest Count and Menu Changes
For wedding and event catering, final guest counts and menu selections may generally be adjusted up to 48 hours before the event, subject to the confirmed booking, package requirements, ingredient availability and reasonable operational limitations.
Changes requested less than 48 hours before an event may not be possible.
A change in guest count, menu selections, staffing, rentals, delivery requirements, venue location or other requested services may change the final balance.
8. Menu and Product Availability
Ukrainian Catering makes reasonable efforts to provide the dishes and services confirmed for an event.
If an ingredient, product or other item becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the client and provide an appropriate alternative where possible.
Material substitutions will be handled reasonably and with consideration for the client’s confirmed event requirements.
9. Dietary Restrictions and Food Allergies
Clients are responsible for informing Ukrainian Catering of known dietary restrictions, food allergies and other relevant dietary requirements within the required planning period.
We will advise clients regarding requirements that we can reasonably accommodate.
Food is prepared in a working food-preparation environment where multiple ingredients and allergens may be present. Unless Ukrainian Catering expressly confirms otherwise in writing, we cannot guarantee that a menu item or preparation environment is completely free from every possible allergen or trace ingredient.
Clients should not assume that an item is suitable for a serious allergy unless the requirement has been specifically disclosed and discussed with Ukrainian Catering.
10. Delivery and Buffet Setup
Depending on the services included in the confirmed booking, Ukrainian Catering may provide:
- delivery to the confirmed venue;
- hot food delivery;
- buffet setup;
- chafing-dish setup;
- serving utensils;
- agreed catering equipment;
- teardown; and
- equipment pickup.
The exact services included are determined by the applicable package, quote or invoice.
11. Venue Access and Event Information
The client is responsible for providing accurate event information and ensuring that Ukrainian Catering can reasonably access the venue at the agreed time.
Clients should disclose relevant venue conditions including:
- venue access times;
- loading restrictions;
- parking restrictions;
- stairs or accessibility limitations;
- long transport distances between unloading and the service area;
- security or check-in requirements;
- venue-specific catering rules; and
- other conditions that may materially affect delivery, setup or service.
If material venue conditions or requirements were not disclosed before the booking was finalized, additional services or costs may be discussed with the client where reasonably necessary.
12. Equipment and Rentals
Certain catering equipment supplied for an event remains the property of Ukrainian Catering and may be collected after the event.
Optional rentals or service upgrades may include items such as:
- ceramic plates;
- stainless-steel cutlery;
- tables;
- linens; and
- other agreed catering or event equipment.
The specific rental items and applicable charges will be identified in the quote or invoice.
The client is responsible for taking reasonable care of Ukrainian Catering equipment while it is at the event location.
Charges may apply for equipment that is lost, intentionally damaged or damaged through unreasonable misuse, where permitted by law.
13. Staffing
Where requested and available, Ukrainian Catering may provide service staff.
Staffing rates, minimum hours and the number of staff included will be stated in the applicable quote or invoice.
Recommended staffing levels may depend on guest count, venue layout, event timeline and the type of service requested.
14. Wedding Tastings
Wedding tastings are a separate service and may be subject to their own pricing, availability, scheduling and menu-selection requirements.
Submitting or confirming a tasting request does not by itself reserve the requested wedding or event date.
15. Wedding Cakes
Wedding cake and custom cake services may have separate requirements relating to:
- availability;
- design;
- size and weight;
- flavours;
- décor;
- delivery;
- setup;
- deposit; and
- payment deadlines.
Cake pricing may depend on size, weight, design, décor and other custom requirements.
Where cake services are combined with a catering booking, the applicable written quote or invoice will identify what is included.
16. Payments
Payment requirements, due dates and accepted payment methods are communicated through the applicable quote, invoice or booking communication.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that required payments are received by the applicable deadlines.
A booking may not be treated as confirmed until the required deposit or other required payment has been received.
17. Client Cancellations
If a client cancels a confirmed event, the applicable deposit is non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated in the applicable written agreement.
Any additional cancellation terms included in an accepted quote, invoice or written agreement also apply, subject to applicable law.
Where cancellation occurs after Ukrainian Catering has already incurred event-specific costs or commitments, including custom products, ingredients, rentals, staffing or other event-specific expenses, those matters will be handled according to the applicable written booking terms and applicable law.
18. Changes or Cancellation by Ukrainian Catering
If circumstances outside our reasonable control materially affect our ability to provide an agreed service, Ukrainian Catering will make reasonable efforts to contact the client and find an appropriate solution.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, dangerous road conditions, venue restrictions, emergencies, government orders, utility failures, supply disruptions or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
19. Online Orders
Certain products or catering services may be available through online ordering functionality.
The information presented during checkout, including selected products, quantities, delivery or pickup information, applicable charges, taxes and total price, forms part of the applicable transaction.
Additional rights or requirements may apply to qualifying online consumer transactions under applicable law.
20. Communications
Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information.
Ukrainian Catering may communicate with clients by email, telephone, website form, invoice communication or other contact method used in connection with the inquiry or booking.
Clients should review booking communications and notify us promptly if important information appears incorrect.
21. Photographs and Client Content
Reference images, inspiration photographs and other materials submitted by a client are used to understand the requested service or design.
Clients should only submit materials that they are permitted to provide to Ukrainian Catering.
Submission of a reference image does not guarantee an exact reproduction. Handmade food, catering presentations and custom cakes may reasonably vary in appearance while following the agreed design direction.
22. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, original website text, photographs, graphics, branding, menu content, layouts and other original Ukrainian Catering website materials are owned by or licensed to Ukrainian Catering.
Website materials may not be copied, republished or used commercially without permission except where permitted by law.
23. Website Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Ukrainian Catering website.
Website functionality may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party service interruptions, security measures or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
24. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may contain links or integrations involving third-party services, including payment services, social media platforms, review platforms, maps and other external websites.
Third-party services operate under their own terms, conditions and privacy practices.
25. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ukrainian Catering is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising solely from use of the website or from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or limited.
26. Consumer Rights
These Terms are intended to operate together with applicable consumer protection laws.
Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to waive or release any right, benefit or protection that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
If a mandatory legal requirement conflicts with a provision of these Terms, the mandatory legal requirement will apply to the extent of that conflict.
27. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Ukrainian Catering Privacy Policy.
Information about website cookies and similar technologies is available in our Cookie Policy.
28. Governing Law
These Terms and bookings with Ukrainian Catering are governed by the applicable laws of Alberta and Canada.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory jurisdictional or consumer rights that apply under law.
29. Changes to These Terms
Ukrainian Catering may update these Terms & Conditions when our website, business practices, services or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be published on this page with the latest update date.
Changes to website Terms do not retroactively replace specific written terms already agreed for a confirmed booking unless the parties agree otherwise or applicable law requires it.
